Thank you for helping me find a balance between “lady” and “leader.”
Dear Eunice,
I am still rather new to this website, but i would like to thank you very much for changing the way I look at life in the few brief weeks that I have been perusing elegantwoman.org. I am a high school senior, and my parents have always had very great ambitions for me. I have never had any issues meeting their standards and I love rising to their expectations, because I adore a challenge and, to me, learning is growth in mind, body, and spirit. However, I was also always told that women are equal to men in, essentially, every regard, and that there is pretty much no difference between the sexes.
Yes, men and women most certainly are equal, and one would have to be a fool to say otherwise. However, though the two sexes may be equal, they are still quite different from one another. A woman certainly can do everything a man can, but it is a lady that can gracefully do all that a man can do. A true lady is empowered while still being charming, graceful, kind, and polite. One does not have to become crude and harsh just to achieve equality with men; in fact, that type of behavior often just makes men disrespect women even more. A bit of kindness goes a long way, and in the end, showing manners and respect for others is what wins the game in everything from the working world to high society. The elegance, confidence, and poise that you have guided countless ladies in has helped us gain the charm that we need to prove that while we are just as intelligent and capable as men are, we are still refined and dignified creatures. Thank you, Eunice, for all that you have done for us!
Sincerely,
Cynthia
