have courage

A collection of inspirations about life.

Have Courage

This is a personal story.

Once I was feeling rather discouraged when I felt my life weren’t going well.

I happened to be in a Kate Spade store, and picked up a luggage tag. There the words were “Have Courage”, embossed at the back of the tag.

I felt stunned for a while, because it was a timely word for my life. It felt like a God moment, that God was telling me to have courage!

I don’t remember why I didn’t buy it, and later went back to try to get it but I couldn’t find it every again. Not on their website or in their shops!

have courage

I don’t have a perfect ending for my Have Courage story, but I will always remember that story to encourage myself, to hang in there and believe that
it will be alright and my turnaround is just right around the corner.

Just like Kate Spade and her designers embossed ‘Have Courage’ on their luggage tags, I hope by relating this story here, you too, will experience a little encouragement to HAVE COURAGE.

Live Your Life Now

These quotes give me (additional) courage to pursue my dreams.

I hope they will give you courage too. They do not have to be big dreams. They can be little dreams, such as learning to play the piano
or dance. Do not let anyway belittle your dreams. God put those dreams in there! God can take little dreams to make them big!

Live your life now. Do not wait; the time will never be just right! Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.” – Napolean Hill

“Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears.” – unknown

“Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow.” – unknown

“Some folks never try to grow beyond lives that have not realized that potential. And as long as they don’t regret that, that’s fine. Live and let live. But for those who regret never trying, it’s a shame because the Web, as complex as it may seem, makes it all possible” – Ken Evoy

“The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind.” – unknown

“What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve” – Napolean Hill

“It is not what you are that holds you back, it’s what you think you are not.” – Dennis Waitley.

“Keep calm and carry on.” – British poster made during the world war to civilians.

Expanding Your Reality

Robert Kiyosaki and Ginie P. Sayles talked about this in their books.

Here are some quotes from Ginie: (Abridged version)

“At that time when I met my husband, if I had not educated myself to his lifestyle through all things I’ve been through; met; there would have been such a gap of experience between us that we would have had little in common, little to talk about, much less to build a happy marriage upon.”

Be glad; be glad when you feel the intense, frustrated, unhappy yearning. It means your desire system is getting healthier, stronger.”

“Your desire system is making you uncomfortable with your present situation. It is insisting that you change your life in whatever way you have, in order to have what you want.”

Quotes from Robert Kiyosaki

“Expand your reality.” – Robert Kiyosaki

have courage

I think growth is a mix of desire, courage and action.

When we were younger, we often wore our mothers’ things and pretended to be adults. We couldn’t wait to do adult things, wear adult clothes and even as a young adult, I often wished I was older so that people would take me seriously.

The desire was strong. Similarly, whenever we want something, for example: a change, to acquire some skills, a new direction, the “desire” in us has to be strong enough to push us out of our comfort zone. To be out of our comfort zone takes courage. To take action, is to actually actively pursue something, knowing that it might not work out. It is putting yourself out there.

To achieve anything that we want in our lives:

We need to cultivate a strong desire, have courage and take the action towards our aspiration!

Patiently, Thought By Thought

Patiently, thought by thought,

Old habits are untaught.

We watch but cannot see

The seed invisibly

Become the oak or pine

Or warm fall fruiting vine.

We see the stature gained;

We see the growth attained,

But we cannot see things grow

The process is too slow.

Things have a time to root,

A time to flower and fruit

A time to stand and rest

And every time is best.

Waiting is also growth;

Living consists of both

Patiently, thought by thought,

Old habits are untaught,

New ways of life are wrought.
