What matters most to me..

Hello, After just joining Elegant Woman, I'm looking forward be with you, and hoping that I can contribute something of worth.
I learn my manners and social graces from my paternal grandmother. She was lovely, serene and absolutely one of the most put together women I've ever known. I'm sure this is a legacy that she carried to my generation and now beyond.
I'm 69 years old, and perhaps am much older than most here. My philosophy of life has changed over the years. Married to a military man, traveling very much of those years with our five children, was one of the most enjoyable and yet difficult times.
Now my husband and I are blessed to have our children and grandchildren nearby. I love being a Grandmother and try to be a good role model to our 5 granddaughters and 5 grandsons.
Being a lady in the most trying circumstances is a Gift. I've learned over the years that having a relationship with God and reading His Word, has given a calmness and serenity that I'm helpless to attain on my own. To speak a kind word or share another's burden is a humbling and uplifting experience.
It's relatively easy to learn the basics of being an elegant lady, but putting them into practice and touching others lives is another thing entirely. It's God who takes us through and refines us so we have the qualities that matter most.
