Sick and tired
by: Karen

If you just dropped by, she has every right to keep watching, because you are intruding on her and watching t.v. is what she wanted to do. But she should also be nice and either put the show on "record" or explain to the guest that you just settled in to watch your favorite show. If I were the one dropping in, I would have brought something to her first of all, scoped out the situation, and said I won't bother you, just wanted to make sure you were getting along ok. You can take a cue from her, if she wants you to stay she will ask that you do, or she will say, "I'm not much up to company right now". It's important for both parties to be polite, in order to save the friendship.

Well if she is really sick, that is why she is unlike her chatty self, then maybe you were just not used to it.

If she didn't want you there for a long time, she should have said she so, (maybe by giving excuses that she was tired and wants to sleep). Instead of blanking watching the television and hoping you might go.

If she was not sick, had invited you over, then watching tv when you were there can be rude. Or maybe she was just very comfortable having you around and not talking.

I think this was just a breakdown in communication and I'm sure your friendship is more important than to continue with this.
