Treat yourself

As a single mom it is not often to have time or money for my self. Recently I began dating a very educated man. I am not. I returned to college after my divorce and only work part time.

As a birthday gift he gave a gift card for a spa day. I was excited but embarrassed . My feet and nails are here disgusting. I was worried about how the spa employees would view me.

Instead of crying about it I thought I should take action.

I separate a little money for myself on payday and treat myself to a manicure. I invest in a gel manicure that last longer. For $20 plus tip I get to feel elegant and presentable.

A change as little nails and I feel confident about myself. I no longer fear the spa. To save money I also bought a foot tub and do my own pedicure. I figure I can get away with it during the winter months.

In the meantime, I can put a little extra away here and there to buy a gift card to last me though the summer.
