Sad/Angry/Confused Wife.

Husband was married to first wife. Three children, she dies when youngest was 18 years old.

Husband marries second wife 2+ years later. They hated her and made her rather miserable for some years. I suspect that led to her drinking problem that results in her having been diagnosed with early onset alzheimers due to long term alcohol abuse and having been confined to an institution for the last 10+ years.

I marry the father 2+ years after he is divorced and the children are crazy. Hated me before they met me.

Have kept the grandchildren from their grandfather and never have time for Christmas until mid January and the 80th birthday of 9/23 will be celebrated by them on 10/3!

We had a huge party with many great friends and lots of food and just a wonderful evening in our home.

Not a one could make it. One was having dinner guests. One was going to see his daughters probably 500 volleyball game and the other was going to ME for a weekend visit.

The celebration will be in a restaurant in an area that we frequently travel to with friends and I wanted to bring the three of them along and pay for their dinner.

My husband's daughter was not so keen for this idea. They know the people. They are very nice, they are our dear friends and we see their grand daughter that they have custody of much more than we have ever seen my husband's grandchildren.

I never get a birthday card from her or a call, but I always see that all birthdays are honored often I might have honored a child on Venus and still await some notice that at least something got there!

Do I have to go to the celebration dinner on 10/3. I would rather be with my friends and I am tired of bending to a heartless witch. Do I have to go?
