Potluck Dilemaby Alanna My husband and I are planning to host a Pot Luck (finger food) Christmas Open House. I feel uncomfortable asking guests to bring "something", even though I love contributing a dish when going to other's homes. We will supply drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic). I have 2 questions - is it ok to ask guests to bring a dish? and should I give guests suggestion of what dishes to bring, or leave it to them? I just didn't want 3 cheese & cracker platters. When we have hosted Open Houses in the past, we have supplied all the food/drinks, however most people ask "what can I bring". We are just trying to keep the costs down this year. Any input would be greatly appreciated. |
