Properly make up a bed
by: Anonymous

The right side of the top sheet, or the side with the pattern, should be facing down touching the right side of the bottom sheet so that when the sheets are turned back both right sides of the sheets show. There is actually a slightly smoother surface to the right sides of most sheets so that when your skin touches the sheets it touches the smooth sides. Also, when you make the bed with the right side, or patterned side, of the top sheet facing up, and put a blanket on top of it, it defeats the purpose of having a pattern or right side to the sheet. I was taught this not only by my mother, but by my high schoool home economics teacher.
