Happy Holidays!

Dear Miss Manners,
I read the recent post from Happy Holidays? and was deeply disturbed. Although I appreciate the desire to spare the feelings of the surviving spouse, to assume they will "not have happy holidays" is rather presumptuous. Why would you NOT want to wish them happy holidays! As a recent widow with teenage children the holidays will certainly not be the same for us. However, there will be get togethers with family and friends and lots of love, laughter and shared memories of our loved one. My children are very much looking forward to those gatherings. That being said I wish all of you Happy Holidays!
