Graduation Announcements

During the month of May my husband and I will graduate with our associates Degrees and our youngest son will graduate from high school we want to sent out announcements to our closest family and friends but the formal ones from the school are expensive and to send out 50 announcements for each of us seperately is just more than we can do. What I would like to do is this: Make up something nice on the computer that says something like this

The Smith family wishes to announce the graduation of James Allen from his program at the name of the school with his assciates Degree, and the date and Susan Ann from her program her school with her associates and the date and James roy from the name of his highschool the date. We wish to thank you for all of your support, prayers and words of encouragement over the past several years as we worked towards this goal

Is there anything out of line with this.

I think since you are both adults, it should be about your son. He should have his own day with his own party like any other kid. I think it would be more appropriate to wait until Christmas and send a letter with your Christmas card about your year. People will feel obligated to give you and your husband a gift in addition to your son otherwise. That is what the announcement would come across as.
