Thinking of putting together an elegant dinner party? Here are some easy fuss-free elegant dinner recipes.
I’ve always loved food. Well, not so much in the sophisticated sense, but I’ve always enjoyed eating heartily.
Food is also very important to my friends and family and we are usually more excited about dinners than say, watching a movie.
Thus over the years, I’ve learnt how to host some dinner parties. During that time, I became more keenly aware of what works well.
Putting together a food and wine list isn’t as difficult as one thinks. Anyway, do not be intimidated of throwing an elegant dinner party, even if you think you’re not quite thaaaat sophisticated.
How to choose elegant dinner recipes
There are many schools of thoughts of how courses should be combined. It also depends on the culture you come from. A successful dinner party is not just about selecting recipes, but also how you combine the choice fo food. There must be a balance between sweet and savory. Adding a twist or surprise to the good old favorites are also an excellent way to spruce up meal times.
While I love food, I’m not exactly the great or most hard-working chef. Thus, here is my cheat sheet to preparing elegant fuss-free dinners.
How much food to prepare?
That depends on the crowd. Will there be children? What kind of people? How many courses will served?
If my huge main course requires more work, I will go easy on the dessert – say, just cut fruit.
Or I can serve many little dishes that don’t take much time to prepare so if you add up all the little dishes, it would make a hearty meal.
If the food served are old favorites, then I will serve a new exciting dessert.
So, here are some of my favourite things to serve.
P.s. Do google these recipes! I used to link my favorite recipes but they very regularly became broken links (perhaps the author became tired of them and deleted them).
