Start and End time means specific entertainment

If I received an invitation for a street party which had a start time at 6pm, I assume that I am expected to be there at 6pm, if I do not want to miss out of some kind of performance or show etc.

Or food.

If there is ALSO an end time, I'm assuming that the shows and performances will end there and will be prepared to linger with friends, otherwise I'll make my way home.

I don't know too much detail of your party so I hope this answers your question/
