Now that the covid restrictions are easing, I’m paying more attention to my footwear. Before, it was mainly sandals for a quick trip to the grocery store. Now even though I’m still staying in a lot, I can dress up a little! (Love the classic Ballerina flats - it suits my casual life).

ELEGANT PRINCIPLE: It is fine to have a different

ELEGANT PRINCIPLE: It is fine to have a different opinion. There should be no name-calling, insults, slander and other methods of pressure or to oppress someone due to a difference in opinion/political beliefs. In recent weeks, there has been lots of talks of politics due to the current elections of where I live. As a result, I’m often taken aback at friends airing their views freely on social media, particularly ones who seem to love to criticise others who do not want to vote in the same way. Although it is their prerogative , it makes me feel quite uncomfortable. I actually do feel strongly about politics, current issues and have very strong opinions, I just rather not get into it with just anyone, if at all. That’s just my take.

ELEGANT CONCEPT： Respond, don’t react. So much of what has happened in our lives are due to people reacting instead of responding. That includes me. I was considering telling someone off who emailed me in response to my previous post, condescendingly and patronisingly calling me “Sweetie”, trying to draw me into conversation about things I do not wish to discuss with people I do not know personally. I decided that that was a reaction. Instead I replied matter-of-factly that I was referring to covid-19 & its drastic repercussions on economy, people’s welfare in time to come. Of course, I quite dislike ANY KIND of name calling, especially haughty ones such as the above. Oh the irony! Sometimes I think people think too much about being right and they also place so much importance on what they say without considering how it makes the other person feel. A reminder to myself - as an expressive person passionate about life, I make this mistake. In my anger for injustice, I may raise my voice talking or give unsolicited opinions, and I tend to react when my feathers are ruffled. But to remain calm, to think logically and intelligently allows for a more effective and kinder response. #foodforthought (not #titfortat)
